2009 action items 2
I would like to dig deeper to the 2009 action items I wrote about yesterday.
1. Sales
Masa is monitoring the charges, but each of us should make plans at the beginning of the month to reach the charge goal. Also, we should look at the billing analysis report at the middle of the month and re-think of how to reach the goal. Masa will lead this effort also.
2. Staffing
No new hire scheduled unless very good candidate.
3. Team member growth
We should really make an effort to shorten the time to finish the job. The problem I am seeing is that many of us are doing the job according to what we think we should do. That assumption is often a big mistake and one advise would save a whole lot of time. Don't be hesitant to ask the secret to getting things done! (actually it is not a secret) That is one reason we have a flexible seating system. Ask before you start! Ask, ask, ask.
4.Organizational Management
I am confident that Hiroshi will do a better job than me.
5. Challenge
One of the biggest challenge is to stream line our outsourcing job. I think we need to make a big improvement for this to 1) be profitable, and 2) to acquire more engagements. I would like to be involved more in each outsourcing engagements.
We will pick one client and use downloading, portal etc to make it a model engagement.
We will also need to finalize the go green project internally and apply it to other clients.
6. Profitability and cashflow
I will develop a monthly budget that is attainable and should be able to increase the profit share substantially compared to 2008 by mid January. After setting a concrete goal, all we need to do is to work toward it individually and as a team.
7. Client service
I am planning to write about ideas in this blog starting mid January.
Zakkuri report needs to be finalized and implemented to many of our clients.
8. New Clients
We have been discussing about this for a while. Now we only need to execute the ideas such as business cards and web marketing, news letter, etc.
I have been writing the process of reflection of 2008 and planning for 2009 so that you guys can understand how I am coming with the plans for 2009. After a lot of ideas and thinking, our focus is on a few. We can't do everything, but after focusing on several things that we can actually do, all we need to do is execute.
