Referrals

We get new clients mostly from referrals. It is very important to have satisfied customers. Our aim is to make our clients "raving fans."

As our exposure in magazines, etc becomes larger, it is also very important to make a database of thank you letters (emails) from our clients, successful engagements, and the different engagements we have been involved in.

Most companies cannot make a decision of changing accounting firms by themselves. They want some external source that they can depend on. People want to do the same thing as others. For example, people like to go to a restaurant where there is a line, they will go to places where there are a lot of people are going. It is human nature. It is the same with deciding which accounting firm to use. Especially Japanese companies like to follow what others are doing.

I think it is very important to create a database of external witnesses that we can readily hand out to our potential clients. As we improve our "intangibles," we should work on the database at the same time.

Any ideas?
