knowledge or information?

Knowledge is useful to the extent it can be used. New information becomes knowledge when it is connected to what we already know.

So, when we do some kind of research or study, we always want to connect it to actual circumstances. Try to imagine one of your clients. How does that information apply to that client? How will you explain such information to the client? How will you gather information from the client in order to apply it to the client?

General information is not knowledge. You can leave general knowledge in the computer hard disk or the web. Just make sure it is accessible when you need it. But if you want to gain real knowledge, connect it to the knowledge you already have. Try to be able to explain the knowledge to the client in 15 seconds or less.

Trusted professional are those who have knowledge, not information.
