Lets cut waste

In our line of job, a lot of waste can be found in our process.

I believe we can cut waste and increase our productivity 2 times more than the current productivity in about a year. Which means we can probably do 1.5 times the work we do now spending 25% less time than now. It does not happen overnight. We need to make small changes every week.

The biggest change we can make is probably how we work. For example, it is good to do your own research. However, it takes time to do research from scratch. For example, no one would open IRS code book to do a research before looking into google or a tax software. It makes no sense. Likewise, it is always better to ask for guidance to someone who knows more first.

Just as you would google a problem, you ask for guidance to someone who knows more, then do some research so that you are confident about the solution (to connect the new issue with your present knowledge) then spend time later on to further reinforce the connection. This is a much wiser and efficient way to solve the problem and learn from the process.

Your job is to improve on what you have understood. Not to discover something what others may already know. Let's think of this when you come across new situations. We need to remove waste and become the most efficient team in the industry!
